How to tone love handles and beer belly?

I work out often. Mainly just free weights and power lifting. I also run 3/4 of a mile on the days I'm lifting.

I use an ab roller wheel and do sit ups (3 sets of 25), but still have a beer belly and love handles. The section (not sure if it's abdomens) under my chest is pretty strong, but I still have a bit of a beer belly below that... It looks weird.

Can anyone reccommend some exercises to target the beer belly/love handles? Please, try and mention specifics, as to what muscles to use and try and be specific about range of motion... I've done excersizes wrong before .

Also, I eat a lot... Especially during barbecue season. I started lifting weights to avoid dieting. I'm happy with the results I've gotten and now it's become a hobby that I enjoy. I wonder if it's only this area I'm having trouble with, because I eat just about anything?

There's no specific way to "target" areas of fat. The body burns relatively equally all over. Just by doing situps you can't get rid of belly fat, BUT! If you want to work on your stomach and sides me, do situps like this:
Get in position, sit straight up, lean to your left, go down, straight up, lean to your right, go down.
Lie on you side and lift up sideways, from the waist up. Do both sides.
Lie on your stomach, lift your top half up, from the waist up.

Also, as far as eating, try and avoid tons of fats (ESPECIALLY TRANS fat) and calories. No matter how much you work out, if you're eating MORE than you're burning, you're just adding to your gut.
