Bbq Side

What is a good side dish for a BBQ?

My family is having a BBQ party this weekend and we are trying to think of another side to go along with pulled pork and hamburgers. We have macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and a fruit tray as sides (including watermelon), but we would like to have another cold side, like a potato salad or something. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

This goes with any meat as a cold/chilled side dish. My favorite.

PEA SALAD:

I JUST MIX IT ALL IN A BOWL, CHILL.

SERVES 4:
I USE:

1 CAN DRAINED PEAS.
1 SMALL ONION (CHOPPED).
2 BOILED EGGS (CHOPPED) COULD USE ONLY 1 EGG.
1 tsp. RED WINE HERB VINEGAR. (OR, TO TASTE)
1 TBL. SPOON SUGAR (OR, TO TASTE)
1 TBL. SPOON MAYONNAISE (OR YOU CAN LEAVE IT OUT AND ONLY USE MARZETTI)--
MARZETTI SLAW DRESSING (I ADD ENOUGH TO DRESS ALL INGREDIENTS, I
LIKE IT KINDA SOUPY, BUT JUST USE YOUR OWN JUDGMENT) (DON'T BUY THE "LITE"--
IT HAS NO TASTE---)

ADD--TO TASTE:
CELERY SEED---DILL WEED---CURRY POWDER---LEAF. MARJ.---BASIL LEAVES---PARSLEY FLAKES---
LEAF OREGANO---THYME---A SHAKE OF "ORIGINAL" MRS. DASH---A FEW SHAKES OF GARLIC POWDER--

MIX ALL IN A BOWL AND TOSS TO COVER.~~CHILL~~

THE CURRY POWDER GIVES IT "IT'S TASTE".....I PUT CURRY POWDER IN MOST ALL MY
SALADS.---EGG--POTATO---MACARONI---TUNA--SALMON....I JUST ADD UNTIL I THINK
IT TASTES JUST RIGHT.
REALLY GOOD WITH RIBS--CHOPS---HAM....ANYTHING!!!

SWEET TEA:

Ingredients

3 Family size tea bags
2 Cups of cold water
1 Cup of sugar

Directions

Place the two cups water in a pot and add the tea bags. Bring to a boil, do not continue boiling. Remove from heat and let steep. Pour warm tea into empty pitcher. Add the sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Fill remaining pitcher with cold water.

LEMONADE:

I sliced one lemon to add to the Lemonade
and squeezed one and remove the pulp and added to
Lemonade. Remove seeds of course. I also
put some of the Lemonade in ice trays to freeze
and add to the Lemonade instead of regular
ice. It doesn't water it down. I also used bottled
juice.

8 cups water
1 1/2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 1/2 cups sugar

Place sugar and 2 cups of water in a sauce pan.
Heat until sugar dissolves Pour sugar water, lemon juice and remaining water into a gallon pitcher.
Chill for several hours or overnight.

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE....YUM!!

Ingredients

8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, melted, plus 8 more
tablespoons (1 stick) butter, melted, plus
additional butter, for greasing pan
1 (18.25-ounce) package chocolate cake mix
1 egg, plus 2 eggs
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 to 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Lightly grease a 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and 1 stick melted

butter, and stir until well blended. Pat mixture into prepared pan and set aside.

In a stand mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese until

smooth. Add the remaining 2 eggs, and the cocoa powder. Lower

the speed of the mixer, and add the powdered sugar. Continue

beating until ingredients are well mixed. Slowly add the remaining

1 stick of melted butter, and the vanilla, continuing to beat the mixture

until smooth. Stir in nuts with a rubber spatula. Spread filling over cake

mixture in pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the

cake; the center should still be a little gooey when finished baking. Let cake

partially cool on a wire rack before cutting into pieces.
