What does the level in the gas tank have to do with the transmission?
When my fuel level is below 1/4 tank, my car takes a long time to get to the desired speed. When I am at a stop and I begin to accelerate, the middle dial (rpm's) shoots up and the car won't get higher than 10 or 20 mph. Then suddenly, the dial goes down and the car kind of jumps into normal mode and I can go whatever speed I want. I was told I need a transmission rebuild but what does this have to do with the gas level?
Dude and Classic might be right. I also have a theory of my own. You might have a lot of trash in your fuel tank. When the sudden jerk occurs it moves the trash out of the way from the fuel line screen and it starts delivering fuel like its suppose to. You could also replace the fuel filter.
