Shrimp, beef, chicken satay with peanut sauce etiquette?

How do you dip your satay in dipping sauce? Do you take the meat off the skewer and then dip with a fork? Could you just take the grilled meat off the skewer and put it on top of the rice and then pour your peanut sauce over the meat and rice and eat?
What I want to do is pour the sauce over the meat (off the skewer) and rice and eat. Is this okay to do? I like the taste of the meat, rice and sauce together without all the dipping action.

If you are seated at a table, remove the meat from the skewer onto the rice. Dip each piece into the sauce as you eat.

If it's a finger buffet, it's quite acceptable to dip the the meat into the sauce before eating from the skewer.
