Pampered Chef
Pampered Chef pan burned in Broiler and is black. Can I save it?
My husband put my pampered chef pan in the broiler for an hour and it turned black like it was in a fire on the top only. Can I just clean it with baking soda and water and all will be well or is it trash now?
If you are talking about one of the baking stones, DO NOT use Easy Off as someone mentioned. Don't use anything on the stone that you would not put in your mouth, because the stone will absorb whatever you put on it. This is why it is not recommended to use soap. You can use a baking soda paste to try to get some of the black off, but the black should not affect the way the stone functions. A well-seasoned stone will be very dark brown or black. Your stone should still work fine, but tell the hubby not to do that again. Pampered Chef does have pans that are designed for the broiler if you need one.
