How to drain the water in my pool?
How can I remove rain water from my pool where only have one valve that works BACKWASH water through my filter DE? I do not have a bypass valve to simply remove excess water. I have a hose bib out of a pipe between the basket and the pump motor but I Never Used and do not know if that is what it is for. If so, should I Simply turn it on while the pump is running to free water? It seemed too small to really do any volume and other pools I had, had a separate valve and PVC pipe that has received large blue pipe storable pool. The tank does not even have the drain hose usual bib at the bottom PS ... not stupid, just never seen such a limit in place as this .. even my skimmer valves, manifolds and main cleaner pool are all on a valve!
Yes the hose bib will work. Many pools have been installed cheaper that way. If it were me, I hook a hose bib and drain the water by the curb. Oh, and remember to check it every once in a while, you'll be surprised how quickly a few inches of water will be drained.
