What property of metals led to the use of plastic or wood on many kitchen utensils in metal? Explain plz.?
Self-explanatory.
All metals are good conductors of heat. Copper is a very good conductor of heat and therefore supports bases baking dish. Unfortunately, copper is also a soft metal and it does not make a good pan handle rigid. stainless steel aluminum are also used to make stoves and can be transformed into rigid handles too but they conduct heat and therefore become very hot. However, the cook must be able to pickup the hot pan without burning his hand (s) and materials to non-conductor of heat used for the handle. Wood and some rigid plastics are poor conductors of heat and so they are ideal pan handles.
