vacuum flask on flight?

Vacuum flask( with milk or empty) are allowed on-board or not ?soon traveling with my 1 year old.

In the US, empty vacuum flasks are allowed onboard an airplane with no restrictions. If they contain liquid, they cannot be brought aboard an airplane in most instances, due to the restrictions on liquids in place for commercial flights listed on the first page linked below.

An exception to the 3-1-1 rule mentioned in the second link, however, allows passengers carrying juice, milk, or formula in quantities exceeding 3.4 ounces for the purpose of feeding children throughout the flight, so long as the amount of liquid carried on is in reasonable quantities (i.e. enough for the duration of the flight only). These liquids must be carried outside of the ziploc bag that is otherwise allowed for liquids under the 3-1-1 rule, and must be declared at the security checkpoint.

In other words -- under normal circumstances, you wouldn't be allowed to carry a filled flask, but if it's filled with milk for your child, then it's acceptable.
